The Scotsman C0530SA-1/B530P Prodigy Plus combination ice machine head and bin ice maker can produce 525 pounds of small cube ice and can hold 536 pounds for later use. Ice is made by running water over an evaporator grid, where it slowly begins to freeze and gain its small cube shape. Once ice is frozen, a Harvest Assist pin pushes the ice out, and the WaterSense control purges mineral-filled water to get ready for the next cycle. Then the ice falls against the baffle and into the bin, which is insulated to prevent melting. If some ice does melt, users can remove water from the interior with the drain.
This Scotsman C0530SA-1/B530P ice maker and bin has features that prevent changes in ice taste and purity. The ice head’s food zone-the area where ice is made-has several components with built-in antimicrobial protection. If it needs maintenance, the AutoAlert indicator lights will illuminate, encouraging users to clean the unit. The bin is lined with quick-cleaning polyethylene and features a built-in scoop holder that helps keep contaminants out of the ice.
