The Kolpak QS7-0612-CT-L Polar-Pak walk-in refrigerator has a refrigeration system that stacks on top of the unit, keeping the sides open for more equipment and storage, but typically requiring a 9-foot-tall ceiling. Because the system is indoors, it is safe from the elements and less stressed in summer months. This system maintains a temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit using fans that circulate cold air. The 2-inch dial thermometer enables the user to monitor the temperature.

To block out heat, the walls, ceiling, and floor are insulated with 4 inches of polyurethane foam. Gaskets and fasteners ensure the panels connect tightly and additional gaskets seal any gaps around the door, which opens from the right and swings closed automatically to prevent it from being left ajar. Inside, lights illuminate the enclosed space, and a door release provides a method of escape so users are not stuck inside. Excess water is removed from the interior with a condensate vaporizer. For rust resistance, the Kolpak QS7-0612-CT-L indoor refrigerator has embossed galvalume walls inside and out.
