The Continental Refrigeration D48N12 sandwich prep unit measures 48 inches long and has a full-length cutting board across the front. Employees can place sandwiches or salads onto the cutting board and slide them across it as they add toppings. The cutout has enough room for 12 sixth-size food pans, which can provide a variety of ingredients. Beneath the pans is a tub that contains messes and can be removed for cleaning.

Additional ingredients can be stored in the refrigerated base, which offers 13.4 cubic feet of space, organized using shelves. Its doors self-close to reduce cold air loss and are made of durable stainless steel. This Continental Refrigeration D48N12 prep table uses an efficient expansion valve refrigeration system to keep the desired temperature between 33 and 41 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature moves outside that range, the valve will expand to speed up the refrigerant flow and the unit will beep, alerting nearby personnel of potential problems.
