Depending on ambient conditions, the Manitowoc IDT1500W Indigo NXT ice machine head produces 1,390 to 1,615 pounds of dice-size ice in 24 hours. If users want to program the production, they can adjust it based on ice volume or time of day. Measuring ice thickness, the acoustical sensing probe ensures the cycle is consistent. The stainless steel exterior has a DuraTech coating that hides fingerprints and resists corrosion. Some of the components are made with an AlphaSan antimicrobial agent to slow down bacterial growth. To ensure the unit is functioning properly, 24-hour preventive maintenance runs and provides daily feedback.

To manage operations, temperature, and production, users can navigate the controls on the Manitowoc IDT1500W ice maker head’s easyTouch display. In-depth cleaning and general maintenance is streamlined with the full-access foodzone, which opens with a hinged front door. Its water trough, distribution tube, curtain, and sensing probes are removable. The 48-inch-wide by 24-inch-deep by 29.5-inch-high unit should be attached to a separately sold D970 ice storage bin.
