The Manitowoc IYT-1500W Indigo NXT ice machine head is cooled with water. The maximum ice production capacity is 1,725 pounds, and production is programmable based on amount or time of day. Ice is checked by an acoustical ice-sensing probe to make sure it reaches its correct thickness before it is released to the ice bin, which is sold separately. The components that come into contact with water are made with an AlphaSan antimicrobial agent to slow bacteria growth.

The stainless steel exterior is made with a DuraTech clear coat that helps protect against corrosion and keeps fingerprints and dirt hidden. The food zone is easy to clean since the front door swings out. Users can keep up with how the machine is running with diagnostics that run daily to help with preventive maintenance.
